San Diego, California Oct 22, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - Ting Therapeutics Advances TT004 into Phase Ib Clinical Trial as a Potential Chemoprotective Therapy for Cisplatin-Treated Patients
Ting Therapeutics, Inc., a biotechnology company developing therapies for treatment-related tissue injury, today announced that its lead candidate, TT004, has received IND approval in China and is advancing into Phase Ib clinical development as a potential chemoprotective therapy for patients receiving cisplatin chemotherapy.
Cisplatin is a highly effective cancer treatment, but its toxicities can substantially limit therapy. Approximately 40% of patients discontinue or modify chemotherapy because of treatment-related toxicities. Cisplatin can also cause permanent hearing loss in up to 80% of patients and acute kidney injury in approximately 30% of patients.
TT004 is designed to protect normal tissues from cisplatin toxicity while preserving its anticancer activity. In preclinical studies, TT004 increased survival following cisplatin exposure three-fold and reduced cisplatin-induced hearing loss and kidney injury by approximately 70%, without compromising cisplatin's anticancer effects.
"These findings support our vision of TT004 as a chemoprotective therapy that could improve the tolerability of cisplatin while maintaining its anticancer efficacy," said Jian Zuo, PhD, Co-Founder and CEO of Ting Therapeutics. "Our goal is to reduce the suffering caused by cisplatin treatment-related toxicities, help more patients receive and complete effective chemotherapy, and improve their long-term quality of life."
Ting Therapeutics recently licensed its China rights for TT004 to Rising Dragon, a Chinese biotechnology company, for development in China. The companies jointly developed TT004 as an oral tablet and obtained IND approval from China's Center for Drug Evaluation (CDE) for first-in-human clinical evaluation.
The Phase Ib trial, conducted in collaboration with oncologists and otolaryngologists at Eye and ENT Hospital of Fudan University in Shanghai, will evaluate the safety and tolerability of oral TT004 administered with standard-of-care cisplatin chemotherapy in patients with head and neck cancer. The study has received institutional ethics approval and is preparing to initiate patient recruitment.
TT004's protective effects have been demonstrated only in preclinical models and have not yet been shown in humans. This trial is the first clinical evaluation of TT004 and an important step toward determining whether these effects can be translated to cancer patients.

The son of Myanmar’s Aung San Suu Kyi said she sounded “fairly healthy” after speaking to the detained ex-democratic leader on Thursday for the first time in more than five years. Suu Kyi, 81, is under house arrest in the capital, Naypyidaw, according to Myanmar authorities, where she has been sequestered since being unseated in a 2021 military coup. “She was sounding fairly healthy,” Kim Aris, who lives in the UK, said after the telephone conversation. The United Nations’ climate loss and damage fund moved to provide US$20 million in aid sought by flood-stricken Nepal – the first time it has set aside money for any country – in a key test of the body’s credibility. In an extraordinary meeting on Thursday, the fund’s board agreed to earmark the modest sum for the Himalayan country, which was hit in August by tsunami-like floods triggered by a climate-induced ice and rock avalanche that killed more than 1,400 people and left over 5,000...
A wind energy partnership between Vietnam and Denmark has fuelled expectations of the Southeast Asian country boosting its competitiveness in renewable electricity to serve overseas and domestic markets. Vietnam is well placed to grow its renewable electricity sector by tapping its large pool of engineering talent and abundant wind resources with help from Denmark, a global leader in wind energy, according to analysts. On Tuesday, the two countries signed a comprehensive strategic partnership...
With one eye on her baby in a stroller, Minae Kamata operates an arcade machine in a Tokyo suburb, manipulating a claw to grab not a stuffed toy but a pack of toilet paper. As inflation weighs on Japanese households, huge arcades on the outskirts of major cities are installing claw machines filled with eggs, rice, laundry detergent and other necessities. The “shop-and-play destinations” merge essential buying with entertainment so that families do not feel a choice between bringing home the...

Organisations in Singapore have been urged to immediately fix two critical security flaws in a widely used programming language amid reports of widespread attempts by hackers to exploit the vulnerabilities. The flaws in PHP, which powers many websites and online services, could allow attackers to take control of web servers, steal data or disrupt services without needing login credentials, Singapore’s Commissioner of Cybersecurity Gwenda Fong said on Thursday. “The threat is immediate,” Fong,...
Unitree Robotics is developing a “self-evolving” feedback loop designed to allow humanoid robots to write code, run simulations and improve their real-world performance independently, founder Wang Xingxing said, in a move that mirrors a broader push towards “self-improving” artificial intelligence. Speaking on Thursday at a physical AI conference hosted by Unitree in Hangzhou, Wang unveiled the project, dubbed “Unitree Rehearsal”, which he called the company’s most important initiative of the...
