The Truth Seekers, a clean middle-grade fantasy mystery for ages 9 to 12 by Florida author R.R. Anders, launches November 17, 2026 in paperback and on Kindle, with free activities for families and classrooms online.

Florida, United States, November 8, 2026 -- The Truth Seekers, the debut middle-grade fantasy mystery by Florida author R.R. Anders, launches on November 17, 2026 in paperback and on Kindle. Written for readers ages 9 to 12, the novel is Book One of a new series, The Adventures of Stella and Rylee. It follows twin sisters who find a book in their attic with their own names stamped on the cover. The book is the first novel from Anders, who holds a master's degree in English and creative writing with an emphasis in fiction. Alongside the launch, the book's website offers free activities for families, classrooms and book clubs, including a character quiz, printable coloring pages, puzzles and a discussion guide for parents and teachers.

A secret book with two familiar names

The middle-grade novel The Truth Seekers by R.R. Anders follows thirteen-year-old Stella Martin, who has started over at so many schools that she has the routine down cold: pick the outfit, flash the fierce face, survive. A new move brings Stella and her identical twin sister, Rylee, to Castle Hill, a small town on the coast of Maine. There, a new history teacher tells Stella something impossible. He knew her father, who died when the twins were five.

In their attic, the sisters find a book that tells them they are Truth Seekers, part of a calling handed down for hundreds of years to help young people who are facing a big choice find the true path. Stella dreams the future. Rylee always knows exactly where to be. Somewhere in town, a boy at a crossroads is running out of time, and someone else is already working to steer him wrong.

Written for readers 9 to 12 and the grown-ups who read along

The Truth Seekers is written for grades 4 to 7 and runs 19 chapters, each opening with an illustration. It is a clean, family-friendly read, with no profanity, no romance beyond a blushing crush, and suspense without gore. Its themes include telling the truth when it is hard, how one small choice can ripple out for years, sisters and family, real friendship, and courage that is scared and goes anyway. The loss of the twins' father is handled gently and honestly, with plenty of humor alongside it. The book is suited to independent reading, family read-alouds and classroom or homeschool book units.

Free activities for families and classrooms

The book's website, thetruthseekersbook.com, offers a "Which Truth Seeker Character Are You?" quiz, a seek-and-find picture puzzle and printable coloring pages, word searches, a maze and a secret-code puzzle. The printables are free and unlock when a parent, grandparent or teacher joins the book's email list. A guide for parents and teachers groups discussion questions by part of the book so that no reader is spoiled ahead of where they are, and adds conversation starters on honesty, friendship and family.

"I grew up the oldest of three sisters, in a house where imagination was the main form of entertainment," said R.R. Anders. "Stella and Rylee come from that same place. Their story is about two sisters who could not be more different, and about how hard, and how freeing, it can be to say the truth out loud. If a young reader finishes the book feeling a little braver, that means the world to me."

The Kindle edition of The Truth Seekers is available for pre-order on Amazon now, and the paperback arrives on Amazon on November 17, 2026.

Japan rethinks its stalking laws after Pokemon store murder

Long before Moe Harukawa was killed, she lived in fear. The 21-year-old shop assistant had reported her ex-boyfriend to police and a court had ordered him to stay away from her. Yet weeks later, Taiki Hirokawa, 26, walked into Harukawa’s workplace – a packed Pokemon store in Tokyo’s Ikebukuro district – and stabbed her repeatedly in the neck and torso before turning the knife he was carrying on himself. Both later died in hospital. Harukawa’s gruesome murder in March at the hands of a man who...

When her prescription for Mounjaro became too expensive, Bey* did what a growing number of Malaysians are doing: she found a cheaper vial online. The 34-year-old from Kuala Lumpur started on the weight-loss drug about a year ago and hasn’t looked back since. “I didn’t feel like eating, I didn’t feel hungry,” she said, recalling flying to Jakarta for a “food trip” recently during which she barely ate. Reviews on Threads and TikTok led her to online sellers offering “tirzepatide”, Mounjaro’s...

Robotaxis are taking over China’s cities. What are they actually like to ride?

The driver’s seat was empty and the steering wheel was turning on its own. Sitting in the back of a Pony.ai robotaxi in Shenzhen, I felt a flicker of nervousness. But as the car glided into traffic, the initial unease gave way to an appreciation of something far less futuristic: the blissful absence of small talk with the driver. My test rides in two of China’s major tech hubs – with Pony.ai in Shenzhen and Baidu’s Apollo Go in Beijing – offered a first-hand experience of how autonomous vehicles...
