In the early days of her academic career, Dr. Rubin earned her medical degree from SUNY stony brook College of Medicine. She then went on to complete her residency and fellowship in hematology-oncology at the Medical College of Pennsylvania. She also completed a research fellowship at Lankenau Hospital.
A member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine, hematology, and medical oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
