Food Logistics, the only publication exclusively covering the movement of product through the global cold food supply chain and Supply & Demand Chain Executive, the only publication covering the entire global supply chain, have selected NorthStar Digital Solutions (NDS) as a 2022 Top Tech Startup, which spotlights top software and technology startups in the supply chain and logistics space.
This year's winners play in a variety of different market sectors, however AI-powered automation and real-time transportation visibility make up a majority (35% and 33%, respectively) while bringing in $1 million to over $20 million in annual revenue.
Recently, NDS launched their custom mobile application, FR8Focus, designed to solve real-world challenges in the LTL market through visual digitization. In collaboration with Radaro, an enterprise technology platform that streamlines and optimizes LTL and freight deliveries, FR8Focus connects the road to the back office with automated document processing and real-time fleet monitoring. Built with intuitive software easily integrated into back-end systems, it unifies communications between drivers, dispatch, administration and the customer while accelerating antiquated processes from hours to seconds.
"From seed funding rounds to launching new solutions, many of today's tech startups are poised to disrupt the supply chain space. They're introducing new innovations, improving user experiences and striving for that safer, smarter, more efficient supply chain," comments Marina Mayer, Editor-in-Chief of Food Logistics and Supply & Demand Chain Executive. "The future of the supply chain industry is directly impacted by the development of these new technologies and I'm very excited to see what's next for these winners."
NDS COO, Dave Brajkovich states, "Waiting for information is a non-starter in this day and age." While working with leading private carrier, Polaris Transportation, the company aims to find more innovative ways to create operational efficiencies and enhance the overall LTL shipping experience utilizing leading edge technologies including enterprise APIs, mobile applications, artificial intelligence, robotic process automation and Hyperledger blockchain fabric.
Dave Brajkovich will be attending the Manifest Vegas forum scheduled for Jan. 31 - Feb. 2, 2023, where select Top Tech Startups will be presenting on stage and additional winners will be featured in the Education Program.

Returning to China after decades away, a correspondent finds bullet trains, dazzling skylines — and a surveillance state more paranoid and pervasive than ever.
US President Donald Trump wants to banish the word “artificial” from artificial intelligence, saying it makes one of the world’s most consequential technologies sound “fake”. Across the Pacific, however, China’s name for the technology has long carried a different connotation – one that places humans, rather than artificiality, at its centre. Trump last week signed an executive order directing US federal agencies to replace “artificial intelligence”, or AI, with “Super Intelligence”, or SI, in...

The leaders pledged on Sunday to continue their campaign against the election commissioner, hours after they were released. Thousands of protesters were detained before Saturday’s planned demonstration in New Delhi, according to the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which called on supporters to keep...
Roziah Jelali has a tip or two on catching a turtle poacher: carrying a pair of binoculars and having patience in spades are key to doing the job well. The 36-year-old Malaysian volunteer ranger once spent three months in Sabah tracking a man whom she suspected of illegally capturing protected turtles. Once thriving off the azure seas of Omadal Island in the Malaysian state, many turtles had been hunted down, killed and sold for their meat, according to conservation experts. Recounting the 2023...
The denuclearisation of North Korea has become an “increasingly improbable” goal and the United States and its allies should move beyond it to devote their diplomatic efforts to talks on arms limitations and crisis communication, the director of the US-based North Korean analysis website 38 North said. Recalling the 20 years since North Korea carried out its first nuclear test on October 9, 2006, Jenny Town said in a written interview that “a pivotal moment” in Pyongyang’s weapons development...

A Thai government proposal to charge export duties on durians, a major cash crop, could raise prices for the fruit in China – its primary market – along with the quality, analysts said. Thailand’s draft bill to establish a fund for research and “sustainable” development of the durian sector would include the collection of fees, the government’s public relations department said last month. Southeast Asian media outlets and agricultural publications have tipped the export duty to be as high as 2...
