McLean-based mobile detailer has serviced 18,300 vehicles across Fairfax, Arlington and Loudoun counties since 2020, using about one gallon of water per vehicle
McLean, Virginia, United States, October 28, 2026 -- About Ecosteamobile

Ecosteamobile LLC, a mobile steam car detailing company serving Northern Virginia, has saved an estimated 1.8 million gallons of water since it began taking orders in March 2020, the company announced today. Ecosteamobile has detailed 18,300 vehicles in more than six years, using about one gallon of water for each, compared with the roughly 100 gallons a garden hose uses in a typical driveway wash.
Ecosteamobile provides mobile car detailing across the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Its core service area is Northern Virginia, including Fairfax County, Arlington County and Loudoun County, with service in McLean, Tysons, Vienna, Reston, Fairfax, Arlington, Alexandria, Ashburn, Woodbridge and Manassas. The company also serves Washington, D.C. and nearby Maryland suburbs. Technicians travel to the customer's home, office or parking garage in a van that carries its own water and power. The company is based at 7918 Jones Branch Drive in McLean and is a BBB Accredited Business with an A+ rating.
The water figure is Ecosteamobile's own calculation. The Maryland Department of the Environment estimates that a standard garden hose uses about 10 gallons per minute, so a 10-minute driveway wash uses about 100 gallons. The same agency puts an in-bay automatic car wash at 35 to 100 gallons per vehicle. At about one gallon per detail, Ecosteamobile saves roughly 99 gallons compared with a hose wash, or about 1.8 million gallons across 18,300 vehicles. Measured against a 35-gallon wash bay instead, the saving is about 620,000 gallons.
“We built Ecosteamobile around a simple idea: a customer in Northern Virginia should not have to choose between a professionally detailed car, the convenience of staying home and using far less water,” said Nurlan Aldaiarov, founder of Ecosteamobile. “Six years and more than 18,000 vehicles later, the numbers show the idea works.”
Ecosteamobile technicians arrive in a van that carries its own water and power, so customers do not supply a hose or an outlet. Pressurized steam loosens dirt on the exterior and reaches interior spots a hose cannot, including air vents and seams. Screens and delicate materials are cleaned by hand. The steam process minimizes water use and reduces reliance on traditional car wash chemicals.

Using about a gallon per vehicle also leaves little wash water to run off a driveway. Fairfax County's stormwater program notes that storm drains carry runoff “directly to local creeks and streams” and that the runoff “is not treated before entering the waterways.”
Customers book a mobile detail online or through the Ecosteamobile apps for iPhone and Android, choosing a time and a location. Common uses include regular interior and exterior detailing at home, detailing in office parking lots during the workday, child seat and stroller steam cleaning for families, pet hair removal, and preparing a vehicle for sale or lease return.

Japan’s push to expand industrial and port cooperation with Bangladesh could transform the South Asian country into a regional trade gateway, analysts say, connecting markets in Southeast Asia and the wider Indo-Pacific while diversifying Dhaka’s economic ties. The plan was announced during Bangladeshi Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s official visit to Japan this week. Rahman welcomed Tokyo’s pledge of US$6 billion in investment over the next five years, which could help revive an economy hit by...
