The new email-first service delivers hand-checked postings with salary bands and direct links, as seasonal hiring slows and job seekers battle ghost listings on crowded job search boards
Los Angeles, United States, October 18, 2026 -- SHENZHEN, China – October 19, 2026 – JobTipOff, a new email-first job-lead service available at jobtipoff.com, today announced its weekly list of hand-checked employment postings, along with early access to a companion app that notifies users the moment a fresh match for their role appears online. The launch arrives as United States holiday hiring heads toward its weakest season in roughly two decades and separate 2026 analyses estimate that up to three in ten online job postings carry no active hiring behind them.
For job seekers, the arithmetic of this quarter is unforgiving. Workforce advisory firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas projects that retailers will add about 450,000 seasonal workers in the fourth quarter of 2026, down 2.5 percent from the 461,500 added a year earlier and the lowest holiday total in nearly twenty years. Retail industry analysts describe this year's seasonal staffing as smaller and more surgical than in past cycles. Fewer openings mean each application carries more weight, and the age of a posting matters more than the number of browser tabs a job seeker keeps open.
The listings themselves, meanwhile, have grown noisier. Independent analyses published in 2026 estimate that between 18 and 30 percent of online job postings are ghost jobs — positions kept publicly listed with no real intention to hire, whether to build talent pipelines, to project an image of growth, or to satisfy internal posting rules for roles already promised to another candidate. A 2025 survey of recruiters went further: 81 percent admitted posting at least one job without actively filling it. Community analyses on Reddit put the figure closer to one in five, with a common caution that four of five listings are still genuine — the difficulty is telling them apart. Job seekers often respond by applying to more postings, which crowds the genuine ones and pushes response rates down further.
"The problem is not that there are no jobs. It is that the boards mix fresh, real openings with listings that were never going to be filled," said David Chen, founder of JobTipOff. "A posting that goes up on Monday can sit under several hundred applications by the end of the week. The one advantage left to a regular job seeker is timing — reaching a real posting in its first days, before the pile gets deep."
JobTipOff's answer is a Monday email list built around human verification. Each weekly list carries 14 to 18 job leads. Roughly nine in ten selected postings include a stated salary band, and every listing is under seven days old when it ships; anything older is cut. Each lead comes with a direct application link that lands on the employer's own system, with no aggregator detours, plus a one-line note explaining why the role made the list.
The list is assembled the same morning it goes out, rather than days in advance. Candidate postings are pulled from company career pages and job boards, then opened one by one and checked against a short checklist: whether the posting is still live, whether compensation is stated as a number rather than a phrase, when it was first published, and whether the application path runs through the employer rather than a middleman. Postings that hide pay behind wording such as "competitive salary" are passed over in favor of listings that state a band. Listings recycled from earlier hiring cycles are removed. What survives is a list short enough to finish in one sitting — by design, the opposite of an infinite feed.
Seasonal timing shapes the calendar as well. Guidance published with Monster's 2026 seasonal hiring index advises candidates to treat October as the final serious window for holiday roles, noting that seasonal hiring slows markedly in the weeks that follow. A Monday cadence matches that reality: leads arrive at the start of each week, while most seasonal postings are still young enough to reward a prompt application.
Alongside the list, JobTipOff is testing an early-access mobile app that monitors job boards for a user's role and sends a notification the minute a fresh posting matches. The app also carries an interview question bank assembled from questions asked in real hiring processes, with suggested answers. Access is by invitation while the product is being refined, and invite requests go to the same email address as the weekly list.
"Ghosts and stale listings are a tax on everyone hunting right now," Chen added. "We cannot make the hiring season bigger. What we can do is make sure a Monday morning inbox holds a dozen and a half real, checkable leads instead of another wall of noise. That is the idea behind the name — the tip-off before the job hits LinkedIn."
The weekly list is free. Job seekers can request it through a curated alternative to job search boards, or by email at [email protected], and a single reply stops delivery. There is no portal account to create and no profile to maintain; the list runs on ordinary email. The service is aimed at applicants in competitive markets where early applications matter most — seasonal retail and logistics roles, office positions, and remote work among them — and at the growing number of hunters who trade leads in community forums such as Reddit's job search communities rather than refreshing the major boards.

When artificial intelligence agents first arrived, they came with a tantalising promise: autonomous “digital workers” that would finally free humans from corporate drudgery. As businesses across Asia are discovering, however, the reality is quite the opposite – more work, new friction and a whole new layer of management. When Xiao Mengjie, an AI product marketing manager at a Big Tech firm in Shanghai, recently assigned two AI agents what she described as a simple task, she expected efficiency....

Japanese scientists are readying a mission to Mars’s moons to retrieve samples that could help unlock the origins of the Solar System and life on Earth, in what aims to be the first round trip to the Martian region. The uncrewed Martian Moons eXploration (MMX) probe, a collaboration with US and European space agencies as well as numerous universities and tech companies, could also help lay the groundwork for eventual human exploration. The flagship H3 rocket carrying the MMX is set to blast-off...
When shoppers step into Rokid’s brand new flagship store in Hong Kong, they are greeted not by eager sales associates, but by glowing monitor screens and a robotic system waiting at the exit. In what the Chinese augmented reality (AR) gadget pioneer called an experiment in “no man’s land” retail, customers navigate the entire journey independently: testing artificial intelligence smart glasses, making payments on a screen and receiving their new devices directly from an automated system on their...

Pakistan’s counterterrorism campaign against Taliban insurgents risks being undermined by public resentment, following the dismissal of the opposition-led administration of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province. According to a statement issued by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s office after an emergency cabinet meeting last Sunday, the decision to impose temporary federal rule was necessitated by the “provincial government’s deliberate disengagement from the fight against terrorism”. Toxic haze from wildfires burning in Indonesia has spiked a demand for oxygen tanks and air purifiers across the region, manufacturers say, as they work the clock on equipment providing life-saving clean air. The months-long haze has blanketed parts of Southeast Asia, forcing school closures and fuelling a rise in respiratory complaints. Families are now rushing to buy devices to keep indoor air clean. At AA Alive, a medical equipment company based just outside Kuala Lumpur, employees were...
