Frux Home and Yard Ships Newly Launched Silicone Oven Mitts in Biodegradable Poly Bags

Jan 3, 2020

January 03, 2020 - /PressAdvantage/ - Frux Home and Yard, based in Las Vegas, Nevada, has announced that they are shipping their newly launched silicone oven mitts in a biodegradable poly bag mostly made from starch. They have recently launched the oven mitts, which are extra long and heat resistant, BPA free, food safe and designed for baking. The poly bags used for shipping the oven mitts are recyclable, biodegradable, durable, and compostable. They want to point out that these poly bags are indicative of their commitment to help protect the environment by using more environmentally friendly packaging.

Mike MacDonald, a spokesperson for Frux Home and Yard, says, “We have newly launched our new line of silicone oven mitts in October, which ensures that people will no longer get burned while baking or cooking using the oven or grill because of their incredible heat resistance. We would now like to announce that we have started shipping them in biodegradable poly bags rather than the usual plastic bags. Since they are mostly made from starch, they will easily decomposed when thrown away, unlike plastic bags. We will also be doing this with our other products.”

The biodegradable plastics used by Frux Home and Yard are made from all-natural plant materials, specifically starch. Biodegradable plastics are broken down by naturally occurring bacteria. They are also compostable, which means they break down through composting within 3 to 6 months. They also require less energy during manufacturing and produce fewer greenhouse gas emissions.

The newly launched SiliMitts are priced at $13.97 and have been tested to be heat resistant up to 500 degree Fahrenheit or 260 degrees Centigrade. They have been made extra long to ensure that the hands and forearms are protected from burns using the oven or the grill. It has also been ascertained to be safe for use by the whole family as its outer liner is manufactured from 100 percent BPA free silicone that is waterproof and FDA approved. It is also provided with a soft and comfortable inner liner made of 50 percent polyester and 50 percent cotton.

These silicone oven mitts have also been designed to prevent slips by having a lifted pattern for a textured and non-slip grip. Because of this, users will be able to maintain a non-skid grip when reaching for heavy baking trays, roasting pans, and dutch ovens. Also, it will only take a few seconds to clean them with warm water and soap. The inner quilted liner can be pulled out for cleaning. However, it is sewn at the seams to ensure that it will never get lost.

Meanwhile, customers who have already tried the silicone oven mitts have mostly left five star reviews about the product. For instance, J.K.H. gave it a five star rating and said, “My kitchen turns into a toffee factory every holiday season since I make probably 50+ lbs for friends, family, and fundraising. I was complaining to my husband about needing to use multiple layers of pot holders/oven mitts simultaneously since none were heavy-duty enough to withstand the heat when it came time to pour a double batch of candy into the pans. He ordered these for me. I made my first batch with them this morning and I am impressed! I can’t speak for durability yet but they are great when it comes to heat resistance! Also, very easy to clean. They don’t allow for much dexterity but, let’s be real, I’m not using them to crochet. They do the job I need them to do.” Overall, these silicone oven mitts have an overall rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars from 485 customer reviews.

Frux Home and Yard also offers a variety of products that are helpful for the home and the yard. These include the Flameless LED Tea Light Candles, Bamboo Cheese Board and Knife Set, Best Flameless Tealights with Bonus Luminary Bag, Set of Luminary Bags for Flameless Tealights, and Flameless Tea Light Votive Wraps.

Australia sanctions 2 over North Korean fake IT workers scheme for nuclear funds

Australia said on Friday it had sanctioned two North Korean individuals and companies over the use of “fraudulent” IT workers and cybercrime to earn cash for the isolated nuclear-armed state. The two men are alleged to be key operators in Pyongyang’s cybercriminal activities overseas, estimated by analysts to bring in billions for the country’s weapons programme. “The North Korean entities and individuals sanctioned today facilitate North Korea’s use of fraudulent IT workers to raise revenue for...

Nepal set to receive first-ever US$20 million payout from UN climate damage fund

The United Nations’ climate loss and damage fund moved to provide US$20 million in aid sought by flood-stricken Nepal – the first time it has set aside money for any country – in a key test of the body’s credibility. In an extraordinary meeting on Thursday, the fund’s board agreed to earmark the modest sum for the Himalayan country, which was hit in August by tsunami-like floods triggered by a climate-induced ice and rock avalanche that killed more than 1,400 people and left over 5,000...

Inflation-squeezed Japanese flock to claw machines dangling everyday items

With one eye on her baby in a stroller, Minae Kamata operates an arcade machine in a Tokyo suburb, manipulating a claw to grab not a stuffed toy but a pack of toilet paper. As inflation weighs on Japanese households, huge arcades on the outskirts of major cities are installing claw machines filled with eggs, rice, laundry detergent and other necessities. The “shop-and-play destinations” merge essential buying with entertainment so that families do not feel a choice between bringing home the...
