Diffinery Foundation Launches Open-Source GitHub Alternative Built Entirely on Cloudflare

Nov 6, 2026

New platform combines Git repositories, GitHub Actions-compatible CI, fast execution runners and security guardrails for AI coding agents, giving development teams greater control over their infrastructure

San Francisco, United States, November 6, 2026 -- SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — Nov. 5, 2026 — Diffinery Foundation today announced the launch of Diffinery, an open-source software development platform designed to give engineering teams an alternative to traditional centralized code hosting and continuous integration services. Built entirely on the Cloudflare ecosystem, Diffinery brings Git repositories, pull requests, GitHub Actions-compatible continuous integration (CI) and AI agent management into one infrastructure environment that organizations can deploy on their own Cloudflare accounts.

The launch addresses a growing concern among software developers: the disruption that occurs when centralized development platforms or CI services experience outages, interruptions or performance bottlenecks. When development infrastructure becomes unavailable, engineering teams can lose valuable time waiting for automated builds, tests and deployment workflows to resume. For organizations increasingly relying on continuous integration and AI-assisted coding, these interruptions can affect productivity and slow development cycles.

Diffinery takes a different approach by allowing teams to operate their code hosting and CI infrastructure within their own Cloudflare environments rather than depending on a centralized third-party hosting platform. The open-source system is designed to provide greater infrastructure independence while supporting familiar development workflows.

The platform combines several essential software development capabilities. Developers can create and manage Git repositories, submit pull requests, conduct reviews and run automated CI pipelines. Its GitHub Actions-compatible system supports existing workflow configurations, including triggers, expressions, matrices, reusable workflows, secrets and OpenID Connect (OIDC), allowing many established automation workflows to run without requiring teams to rebuild their development processes.

Performance is another central feature. According to Diffinery's published specifications, standard CI jobs receive four virtual CPUs and 12 GB of memory by default, with jobs starting in seconds. The platform also incorporates caching and runner management features intended to reduce waiting time and help teams maintain efficient development cycles.

Diffinery is also designed for software teams working with autonomous AI coding agents. Rather than giving automated agents unrestricted access to shared development accounts, the platform provides individual agent accounts and scoped access tokens. Server-enforced restrictions prevent agents from pushing directly to protected branches, while human approval requirements keep developers involved in reviewing and accepting agent-generated changes. Code executed by agents does not receive access to protected secrets.

These controls are intended to make collaboration between human developers and AI assistants more manageable while maintaining accountability over changes to software projects.

"Developers should not have to surrender control of their development infrastructure or wait on another company's service availability to keep their work moving," said Isabelle Feld, spokesperson for Diffinery Foundation. "We built Diffinery to bring code hosting, CI and AI-assisted development into an environment teams control themselves. Our goal is to give developers the freedom to work with the tools they already know while establishing stronger boundaries for automated agents."

Released under the Apache License 2.0, Diffinery is available as an open-source project without a paid software edition. Organizations and individual developers can access the source code and deploy their own instances using their Cloudflare accounts. Cloudflare infrastructure usage is billed separately according to the applicable Cloudflare plan and consumption.

Developers interested in exploring the platform, reviewing its technical documentation or requesting early access to the project's hosted instance can visit https://diffinery.com/. The source code is available at https://github.com/codician-team/diffinery.

How Singapore confronts AI fears of ‘broken’ career ladder, no pause button

Singapore is seeking to flip the script by turning its land and manpower constraints into reasons to embrace AI instead of fearing it, even as the technology carries the spectre of job losses and cyberthreats in the wrong hands, a senior official has said. Minister for Digital Development and Information Josephine Teo argued that pragmatism would give her resource-scarce country an edge without becoming overly reliant on any single power or AI provider. At the Family Business Summit in Hong Kong...
