(PRUnderground) August 7th, 2023

Desert Companion is recognizing nine Intermountain Health providers in its 5th annual Top Doctors publication. Doctors are nominated by their peers and carefully selected by the healthcare research company.
The Intermountain Health providers among the 350 named to this prestigious list are:
This is the most Intermountain Health providers named to Desert Companion’s Top Doctors list in the program’s five-year history. Published bimonthly by Nevada Public Radio, Desert Companion Magazine features award-winning lifestyle journalism and design that celebrates Southern Nevadans and sparks dialogue in our community.
The nomination process is managed by healthcare research company Castle Connolly. Doctors are nominated via peer recommendations of Southern Nevada’s best healthcare providers. Nominations are open to all licensed physicians in America, and they are able to nominate physicians in any specialty and in any part of the country. Castle Connolly’s physician-led researchers use a rigorous screening process and strict standard to select the Top Doctors, including consideration of educational and professional experience.
“The recognition for these providers underscores their expertise, quality care for our patients and dedication to Southern Nevada’s communities,” said Dr. Cara Camiolo, Region Chief Medical Officer at Intermountain Health. “Choosing a doctor is a very important decision. For patients to be able to see these providers are among the top doctors nominated by their own peers is a meaningful testament to their commitment to excellence.”
The August/September Desert Companion Top Doctors issue publishes on Aug. 1. It features the valley’s best dental professionals in addition to the list of the best physicians. Desert Companion has a distribution of 50,000 per issue and can be found at local coffee shops, car dealerships, libraries, and medical offices throughout the valley.
This issue also celebrates Intermountain Health internal medicine physician Dr. Audrey Cruz as a “Trendsetter” feature for her unique personal style as a provider. Two years ago, Mattel selected Dr. Cruz to be one of their “Barbie Role Models” and created a limited-edition Barbie that is replicated after her.
Intermountain Health doctors are no strangers to the Desert Companion Top Doctors list –several have been named to the list in the past, including Dr. Steven Yates, Dr. John Bedotto, Dr. Lara Wenner, Dr. Brian Davis, and Dr. Jay Patel.
