Decision Tactical Champions a New Era of Law Enforcement Training at IACP 2026

Nov 4, 2026

Matrix preview sparks agency interest, industry partnerships, and new conversations around shared access to advanced training technology.

Sanford, United States, November 4, 2026 -- Decision Tactical announced the introduction of its modular, adaptive training system, Matrix, to law enforcement professionals during the 2026 International Association of Chiefs of Police Annual Conference and Exposition (IACP) in Orlando, which took place from October 24-27, offering attendees an early look at technology designed to move simulation training beyond a dedicated simulator room. Matrix places responsive digital characters throughout actual buildings, allowing officers to move through real environments without headsets, glasses, or projectors.

The preview quickly moved beyond product demonstrations. Decision Tactical began developing strategic relationships with distributors, live-range manufacturers, shoot-house manufacturers and other companies serving the law-enforcement training industry, returning from IACP with new industry partnerships and growing interest in Matrix. Discussions regarding additional partnerships and distribution are now underway.

Decision Tactical has filed numerous patents regarding Matrix and clarified that law enforcement agencies interested in purchasing it can use forfeiture funds to do so.

“We went into IACP wanting experienced law-enforcement professionals to get their hands on Matrix and tell us what they thought,” said Remo Eyal, co-founder and CEO of Decision Tactical. “The response went well beyond what we anticipated. Agencies were immediately asking how they could bring the system into their own training programs, while industry partners were looking at how Matrix could fit alongside the infrastructure and training solutions they already provide.”

Matrix was built around the principle that a simulator should adapt to the training rather than requiring training to conform to a fixed simulation environment. Its modular design allows agencies to deploy the system inside existing facilities, including training structures and buildings officers may be called upon to protect.

According to Decision Tactical’s leadership, larger agencies that expressed interest in Matrix are evaluating the system through existing budget and other funding options, while some smaller agencies have begun discussing shared grant applications. The mobile Matrix trailer offers another option by allowing multiple agencies to share the system and move it between departments, rather than requiring each agency to maintain its own dedicated installation.

Australian PM Albanese takes swipe at ex-UK leader Liz Truss over backpacker visa rules

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Wednesday took aim at former UK leader Liz Truss and the thousands of British backpackers flocking to cities like Sydney, as the government seeks to tweak visa rules and ease pressure on the local job market. Truss, who lasted just 49 days in office before being forced to resign in 2022, called the travel arrangement “a major achievement of our trade deal with Australia and hard fought!” “Young Brits no longer have to do farm work as part of their...

The stand-off deepens a year-long dispute between Wingtech and Dutch authorities, as the company faces an impending delisting deadline at home, while Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten prepares for an official visit to Beijing in the spring. In a statement on Tuesday,...

As US-Iran war shows, China’s influence can’t secure its line to Gulf oil

China is becoming increasingly important to the Gulf’s economic future. Yet the Gulf remains capable of disrupting China’s own. That is the contradiction exposed by the US-Iran war. Beijing’s importance as an energy customer, investor and technology partner has grown, but its ability to guarantee the maritime routes connecting the Middle East to East Asia remains limited. The next contest in global energy will concern not only who produces and consumes it, but who can preserve access when...

In one of the biggest scandals to hit the Indonesian National Police (Polri), President Prabowo Subianto on Wednesday sacked his chief of staff, former national police chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo, after his arrest for allegedly wiretapping the president, cabinet ministers, politicians and journalists. The government raised the stakes on Wednesday when presidential spokesman Prasetyo Hadi addressed reporters in Jakarta, warning that the surveillance could amount to “treason” and endanger state...

Malaysia’s debut Hyrox fitness event in beer sponsorship row

Organisers of Malaysia’s first Hyrox fitness competition agreed on Wednesday to exclude the event from a partnership with beer brand Carlsberg after Muslim entrants threatened to pull out and authorities warned they would withhold approval over the alcohol sponsorship. The tie-up had angered some participants who said it conflicted with both their faith and the event’s promotion of fitness, highlighting tensions over alcohol marketing in Muslim-majority Malaysia. “We understand why this has...

Why North Korea’s Kim sees no need for another Trump ‘photo-op summit’

Kim Jong-un’s powerful sister on Wednesday rejected holding any further talks with the United States, days after the FBI accused North Korea of stealing more than US$6 billion from a cryptocurrency exchange and Washington launched a new round of sanctions aimed at Pyongyang. Analysts say the latest developments have all but killed off the chances of another Trump-Kim summit, despite the US president’s continued warm words for North Korea’s supreme leader and apparent openness to meeting him...

Twelve South Korean industry groups urged the government on Wednesday to invest in and support production of Korean television dramas, known as K-dramas, warning that the country’s production ‌base risked collapse. Three domestic broadcast networks cut drama output from 91 titles in ‌2012 to 32 in 2023, and some...

Baidu’s new AI simulator gives robotaxis a crash course in rare road hazards

For autonomous vehicles, the hardest lessons to learn are the ones that can test the skills of even the most experienced human drivers: an errant cyclist darting through a red light, or an animal bolting into oncoming traffic from behind a corner. The Chinese tech giant Baidu has developed a new AI-driven simulator to prepare its Apollo robotaxis for just such rare but high-stakes road hazards, as the firm looks to gain an edge in the fast-growing self-driving taxi market. The system, Apollo...
