Nov 25, 2019

No Borders (OTC: NBDR) today announced it has received “qualification” of its Reg A offering with the SEC to raise up to $3 million. According to the update, No Borders received only a single comment back from the SEC during the Reg A review process and has subsequently filed state registrations in Colorado, New York and Florida. “After nearly two years of work, several brands launched and over a million dollars of private capital invested into the No Borders journey, we are proud to offer our interested parties, big and small, an opportunity to invest with our amazing Company!” NBDR COO Cynthia Tanabe said in the news release. “For the first time since our merger in March 2018, No Borders can provide our supporters – both accredited and non-accredited investors – with a way to invest directly in the Company.”

In addition, on Nov 21, 2019, No Borders Labs announced its first publicly-accessible blockchain product, CBD Lab Chain. Per the update, the product brings together several current-generation technologies to provide a consumer-viewable access point to laboratory CBD and THC concentration test results for retail CBD products. No Borders Labs leverages the blockchain principle of transparency and creates a continuous revenue stream by charging CBD manufacturing and retailers, on a per-test basis, to post results to Lab Chain.

Cruise ship suspends global voyage in Cambodia over fuel prices, hundreds disembark

Hundreds of people permanently living aboard a touring cruise ship were forced to disembark in Cambodia this week after the vessel’s operator said fuel price increases from the Iran war had made operations prohibitively expensive. The Villa Vie Odyssey had been cruising the world for at least ‌755 days as one of only a handful of ships that offered passengers the opportunity to rent or buy long-term or even permanent residences on board. On Tuesday, the ship’s owner, Villa Vie Residences,...

Indonesia weighs tighter ketamine controls amid surge in seizures, abuse cases

Rising ketamine abuse and a series of major drug seizures in Indonesia have fuelled calls for tighter controls on the substance, but a proposed reclassification has raised concerns that tougher penalties could further strain the country’s overcrowded prisons. Last week, Indonesian police and customs officials intercepted the Mongolian-flagged vessel MT Global 168 in the Malacca Strait, seizing 1.16 tonnes of ketamine hydrochloride packed in 58 sacks. National police chief Suyudi Ario Seto said...

Japan’s US$6 billion port plan aims to revive Bangladesh’s bruised economy

Japan’s push to expand industrial and port cooperation with Bangladesh could transform the South Asian country into a regional trade gateway, analysts say, connecting markets in Southeast Asia and the wider Indo-Pacific while diversifying Dhaka’s economic ties. The plan was announced during Bangladeshi Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s official visit to Japan this week. Rahman welcomed Tokyo’s pledge of US$6 billion in investment over the next five years, which could help revive an economy hit by...

China seeks India’s help in defusing border tensions

China said it would seek India’s help to “maintain peace and stability in the border areas” after new stand-offs in a long-disputed region threatened to undermine improved relations. “We hope that India will work with China in the same direction by jointly implementing the common understandings between the two sides,” Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said at a daily media briefing on Monday. China “strictly abides by the relevant agreements”, he said. Guo also said that China...
