Canyon Roofing Northwest Opens in Tacoma, Offering Expert Roofing and 24/7 Emergency Tarping

Oct 20, 2026

Family-owned company led by Joshua and Colette Massey focuses on roof repair, re-sheets, and replacement for existing homes across Western Washington.

Tacoma, WA (PRUnderground) October 20th, 2026

Canyon Roofing Northwest LLC, a family-owned roofing company based in Tacoma, has opened for business and launched a new website for roof repair and replacement in Tacoma. The company serves homeowners across Pierce County, South King County, Thurston County, Kitsap County, and the Olympic Peninsula from its office at 5324 84th St E in Tacoma.

Canyon Roofing Northwest is registered with the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries (L&I) as a general construction contractor under license CANYORN741N8, with registration effective August 28, 2026. The company's surety bond and general liability insurance are on file with the state, according to its L&I contractor record.

The company is owned and operated by Joshua and Colette Massey. Joshua Massey is a second-generation roofer with more than 25 years of experience in the trade. His father, Dave Massey, serves as production manager and brings more than 40 years of roofing experience to the crew.

Canyon Roofing Northwest does not take on new-construction roofing. The company works only on existing homes, a focus the owners say allows crews to respond when a roof fails. That includes 24/7 emergency roof tarping to stop active leaks after storm damage, followed by a return visit for the permanent repair. The company opens as Western Washington heads into its fall and winter rainy season.

"Homeowners deserve a straight answer about whether a roof can be repaired or needs to be replaced," said Joshua Massey, co-owner of Canyon Roofing Northwest. "We built this company around existing homes so we can show up when a roof lets water in, get it dry, and then come back and fix it right. If a repair will do the job, we will say so."

Canyon Roofing Northwest repairs and installs asphalt shingle, metal, low slope and TPO, cedar shake, and tile roofing. The company installs GAF, IKO, and Owens Corning shingle systems and registers the manufacturer warranty on qualifying installations. Services also include gutter and downspout repair, skylight replacement and flashing, roof cleaning, and moss treatment.

For homeowners dealing with storm damage, the company photographs and documents the damage, meets insurance adjusters on site during the damage walk, and provides roof certifications when a claim or a home sale requires one. Every estimate is free and provided in writing.

In addition to roofing, Canyon Roofing Northwest builds composite and pressure-treated wood decks and installs cedar, vinyl, and chain-link fencing, scheduled separately from roofing work.

Homeowners can request a free estimate through the company website or by calling (253) 401-1930. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with weekend appointments available and emergency service around the clock.

Malaysia’s opposition bloc declared invalid, but limited gains for Anwar

Malaysia’s main opposition coalition lost its registration on Tuesday, just 11 days before nominations for a state election, drawing accusations that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s government is using state powers to cripple its rivals. The decision leaves Perikatan Nasional (PN) – already fractured by a bitter dispute between its Islamist anchor, the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), and estranged partner Bersatu – fighting to preserve its electoral identity ahead of Melaka’s November 14...

Energy shock could spark Asia’s next debt crisis

A country need not run out of money to find itself in a debt crisis. It only has to run short of US dollars to pay for its energy. At the recent International Monetary Fund-World Bank annual meetings in Bangkok, the IMF, which expects global economic growth of 3.1 per cent this year and 3.4 per cent the next, cautioned that energy-importing and lower-income economies face a harder road, even as those riding the artificial intelligence boom fare relatively well. According to the World Bank’s...
