Biophysical Therapeutics brings longevity science to skincare with its new IF1 brand

WILMINGTON, Del. - Sept. 23, 2026 - PRLog -- Biophysical Therapeutics, a Delaware company, announces the launch of its consumer longevity brand called IF1.
It is currently accepting pre-orders for its first product, an anti-aging skin moisturizer available at www.IF1.skin. Only 500 units are available in the initial production run, retailing at $120 apiece.
This moisturizer is distinctive in incorporating leading-edge longevity science, and is further distinct, since the profit from its sales will feed back to fund the company's drug programs, which include drugs against cancer, age-related diseases (such as Alzheimer's disease), and aging itself.
The company was founded in 2022 by Dr. Michael Forrest, a Cambridge University biochemistry graduate with a Ph.D. in computer science, and is advised by Professor George Church of Harvard Medical School. Its specialty is computational biology and especially biophysical modeling, which is mathematical modeling of the physics and chemistry of a biological system, and the company is named after this approach. Unusually for a computational biology company, it has actually delivered new experimentally-validated drugs working as predicted in vivo, protected by granted patents.
The science behind the company's new anti-aging skin moisturizer is its conclusion regarding why different mammal species can have such different lifespans, for example, a mouse maximally lives 4 years whereas a bowhead whale can live centuries longer. This conclusion is complex but it distills to simplicity - species with more IF1 protein live longer. Indeed, the company has shown that increasing IF1 protein in mice reduces aging as measured by an aging biomarker.
People already buy anti-aging skincare. Indeed, it is already a $70B market and growing. This bodes well for this new brand that leverages differentiated anti-aging science from leading anti-aging scientists, which will in turn fund them to advance science and medicine. Economists calculate that the economic benefit of slower aging, to the USA alone, is $38T per year of increased life expectancy.
