BiondVax (NASDAQ: BVXV), a biotechnology company focused on developing, manufacturing and commercializing innovative immunotherapeutic products primarily for the treatment of infectious and autoimmune diseases, was featured in the latest episode of the Stock2Me Podcast, an IBN solution to provide specialized content distribution via widespread syndication channels. BiondVax’s CEO Amir Reichman joined the latest episode to introduce the company and discuss its recent development efforts focused on innovative nanosized antibody (“NanoAb”) therapies addressing diseases underserved by current treatments and with large and growing markets. “[While attempting to develop the universal influenza vaccine], BiondVax built a state-of-the-art facility in Jerusalem. It’s a manufacturing facility that includes almost all of the steps of biological production… What we didn’t have at the time that I joined was the IP… We ended up contracting with the Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences and the University Medical Center Göttingen,” Reichman said during the interview with IBN’s Stuart Smith. “With these two institutes, we entered three contracts. One is an exclusive license for development and commercialization of a self-inhaled COVID-19 therapeutic. The second was an accompanying research collaboration agreement… The third contract was a five-year strategic research collaboration contract with these two institutes for the discovery and development of nanobodies for the treatment of additional diseases such as psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, asthma and macular degeneration.”

Last year, Japan was flooding its rice market with emergency stockpiles in a bid to mollify voters angered by the soaring price of its staple grain. Now, it has the opposite problem: a glut. That is welcome news for shoppers, but the whiplash is hurting people like Hiroshi Asano, 59, who farms a relatively large 38 hectares (93 acres) of rice fields in Chiba, close to Tokyo. He expects to make a loss this year, and he is worried smaller-scale farmers would not be able to survive. “I’ve been...

The official opening of the Pinglu Canal on September 16 is a milestone in modern Chinese history. More than an infrastructural feat, it signals a strategic recalibration of how China’s inland economies connect with the sea and Southeast Asia, and augurs the next phase of regional growth. Designed for vessels of up to 5,000 tonnes, the 134.2km (83.4 mile) waterway stretches from the Xijin reservoir in Hengzhou, an emerging city in Guangxi, to the Gulf of Tonkin (known as the Beibu Gulf in...

The trend is reportedly deepening divisions within Japanese society and creating a feedback loop that experts say will be difficult to break. In August, Constella Security Japan, a Tokyo-based cybersecurity firm commissioned by the government to counter online disinformation, hosted a webinar for officials and media on fake...
The US-China AI competition faces a dilemma. Both countries see artificial intelligence as a source of economic, scientific and strategic power, so neither has much incentive to slow down. Yet the more capable and autonomous AI becomes, the more important the question of human control. Last week’s summit between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping brought that tension into the open. Trump wants to leave AI “exactly where it is” rather than add new guardrails, while Xi...
