BillionDollarBreaks – Tingo Inc. (TMNA), MICT Inc. (NASDAQ: MICT) Announce Tingo Mobile PLC’s Launch of Key Partnerships

Nov 16, 2022

Tingo (OTC: TMNA) and MICT (NASDAQ: MICT) today announced that Tingo Mobile, which is being wholly acquired by MICT with a scheduled completion date of Nov. 30, 2022, has launched its partnership with the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (“AFAN”) ahead of schedule. Through its recently disclosed trade deal with Tingo Mobile, AFAN has committed to deliver a minimum of 20 million additional subscribers, which would more than triple Tingo Mobile’s existing customer base of 9.3 million. Tingo Mobile also launched its pan-African partnership with leading global payments technology company, Visa, with the rollout a range of new products and services including Tingo Visa digital payment cards, a Tingo Mobile secure payment service and a Tingo Mobile Point of Sale merchant service. “We are honored to have both AFAN and Visa as our partners,” said Dozy Mmobuosi, Tingo founder and CEO. “It was only a small number of weeks ago that we announced our trade deal with AFAN, so to be in a position where we have launched our partnership with them today, ahead of schedule, is a huge achievement. We are particularly pleased we have been able to arrange both the AFAN and Visa partnership launches to coincide with National Farmers’ Day celebration, which has allowed us to support this important event on Nigeria’s agricultural sector’s calendar.”

Indian royals carve out new calling decades after losing their thrones

In a sprawling palace in western India, the “queen” or Maharani of Baroda welcomes guests with fragrant rose petals, presenting torchlit dances of Hindu myths. Dressed in glittering finery, Radhikaraje Gaekwad is a queen in name only, a modern businesswoman presiding over a world her ancestors once ruled. “The key has been that we have adapted,” the 48-year-old said in her vast Lakshmi Vilas Palace, describing how India’s former royals have found new roles, from cultural ambassadors to...

Humans vs AI art: why game studios hire Southeast Asian talent

Video game companies have long been at the vanguard of artificial intelligence, using it in its more nascent form to dictate non-player character behaviour, simulate crowds and adjust game difficulty on the fly years before the advent of chatbots like ChatGPT. Today, the technology is increasingly being deployed to write code, create visual assets and even synthesise real-time voice-overs, supplanting humans who would have otherwise done the work. Yet studios do still pay people to animate their...

China and US need to join hands against another powerful adversary: AI

When Chinese leader Mao Zedong and then US president Richard Nixon ended more than two decades of hostility in the early 1970s and began restoring ties, one powerful force pulling them together was a shared adversary in the form of the Soviet Union. Fast forward to today. The United States and China, the world’s two largest economies, have spent eight years locked in competition and confrontation, from trade and investment to technology, amid mounting fears that they are on a path to inevitable...
