Houston Orthopedic Spine Surgeon, Dr. Richard R.M. Francis has been helping patients suffering from decades of chronic back pain to get Back to Normal since he founded Spine Associates in 2003. Dr. Francis is one of the few spine surgeons who treats children and adults from around the world. Spine Associates also helps their International Patients and families with travel and accommodations through their International Medical Services.

Imagine how it would be to have suffered from chronic back pain for years or even decades? Some patients were diagnosed and seen by multiple doctors over the years and possibly even had a surgery or two. That’s how it was for many of Dr. Francis’ patients.

Here are a few of their Testimonials….

There’s Jeremiah Barnes who became bedridden and partially paralyzed after two former surgeries who found Dr. Francis and had emergency surgery two weeks later to remove hardware and correct the previous surgeries. Jeremiah is now back to work, active with family and friends, has regained mobility and function and now feels like he is in as good a shape at 40 years old as he was at 25.

Then there is Joseph Manjack III. In 2000 he was run over while on foot by a vehicle. Throughout the last 16 years he had been struggling with severe pain in both his neck and lower back. In 2016 the pain was no longer bearable and Joseph was in so much pain that his blood pressure was through the roof and it even began to affect his vision. The doctors thought he was having a heart attack. Joseph had not been able to keep a job and provide for his family, his marriage was starting to fall apart and he was beginning to have depression and feel like he didn’t want to live anymore. Though he was very skeptical of surgery he found Dr. Francis, had surgery and now feels like a completely different and brand-new person. He would recommend Spine Associates to anyone that has any neck, spine, or back problems. He said that Dr. Francis takes his time and explains everything that his patients will be feeling and going through. Joseph now feels like Dr. Francis has changed his life and now it’s better than ever!

There is Dora Orta who had been suffering with back pain since 2005. In 2006, she had her first back surgery and after the surgery was still in a lot of pain. That same year she had her second back surgery with the same doctor and still had the constant back pain and the top part of her body was leaning forward. Her pain management doctor referred her to Dr. Richard Francis who took x-rays and showed her what was wrong with her back. Dr. Francis told her that it would be a challenge, but that he would be able to fix her back. On April 13, 2011, she had her back surgery. Afterward she said the doctors, nurses and staff were the most personable, caring and uplifting people that she and her had ever dealt with in a medical environment. Now she can stand straight, walk better and is no longer in constant pain thanks to Dr. Francis.

Another patient of Dr. Francis, Douglas Clark, who lived in Iowa fell 20 feet off a roof when he was 16 years old. He lived through the pain for 33 years and finally, after an MRI with his family doctor, was referred to Dr. Francis. Douglas saw Dr. Francis, was properly diagnosed and had surgery 20 days later which immediately relieved the pressure on his spinal cord. After some physical therapy he could return to work, his flexibility and mobility improved, and his daily life has improved.

There is also Wendy Strange who is now 46 years old but was diagnosed with Scoliosis when she was 14. She wore a brace for one year after her first diagnosis but over the years had noticed significant changes in the degree of the curves in her back. Wendy experienced constant discomfort and her previous doctor offered her nothing that helped her to deal with her condition. Wendy found Dr. Francis who told he that he could correct her spine problem. She knew she did not want her scoliosis to continue to progress, leaving her crippled and unable to live the active lifestyle that she and her husband enjoyed. Wendy had her surgery performed by Dr. Francis and after strictly following her post-op instructions could dance at her son’s wedding just 8 weeks after her surgery…. Just like Dr. Francis said she would!

India to gain? Trump’s Russian diesel deal offers New Delhi leverage

US President Donald Trump’s decision to ease sanctions on Russian diesel exports and allow fresh supplies to reach global markets could give India greater leverage in its own dispute with Washington over discounted crude purchases, analysts said. Beyond the energy dispute, they said the move could also open up diplomatic opportunities for New Delhi, from pressing for more consistent treatment by Washington to building on its efforts to help negotiate an end to the Russia-Ukraine war. Under the...

India’s ‘cockroach’ movement leaders arrested again as voter roll dispute grows

Leaders of India’s “cockroach” protest movement were detained again on Tuesday, their second detention in days, as a stand-off with authorities deepened over a contentious overhaul of voter rolls. Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das, two prominent faces of the youth-led Cockroach Janta Party, were taken into custody with other members after jumping barricades to enter Jantar Mantar, historically one of New Delhi’s main protest venues. Delhi police on Monday removed Jantar Mantar’s designation as a...

Why Samsung, SK Hynix and CXMT shares are under pressure despite strong AI demand

A sharp sell-off in Asian memory chip stocks this week signals growing investor doubts over whether the sector’s AI-driven profit boom can last, even as soaring prices drive strong quarterly earnings across the sector. Shares in market leaders Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix plunged in Seoul on Tuesday, extending a days-long slide that has also swept up Chinese rival ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT). Samsung and SK Hynix closed down 7.4 per cent and 10.1 per cent, respectively. The companies...

Is Indonesia’s haze rhetoric ‘unempathetic’? Oxygen quip tests regional cooperation

An Indonesian official’s claim that the country exports “oxygen” and not just smoke to its neighbours has renewed criticism of Jakarta’s handling of its annual forest fires, with analysts warning that defensive nationalism risks undermining regional cooperation to tackle the recurring haze crisis. The remarks by Syahganda Nainggolan, the newly appointed head of the Government Communication Agency, reignited criticism over Indonesia’s handling of its ongoing forest and peatland fires, which have...

Japan, US review military liberty policies after Okinawa killing

Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi said on Tuesday that officials were reviewing the off-base code of conduct for US troops in Japan following the alleged killing of an Okinawan woman by a US marine. Crimes including rapes, assaults, hit-and-runs and drunk driving by US military personnel have long triggered protests on the southern Japanese island, which has for years urged other regions in the country to share the burden of hosting US troops. “We plan to hold discussions including...

North Korea’s new missile museum: part shrine, part arms bazaar

North Korea now has a museum for its bombs. The National Defence Revolution Museum, which opened on Sunday, is the country’s first dedicated exclusively to military hardware, from rifles to intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs). Observers say it is also intended to send a message to Washington and Seoul, serve as a permanent showroom for the North’s arms exports and visibly enshrine its nuclear programme as an irreversible part of state policy. Third-generation ruler Kim Jong-un cut the...

Prosecutors have been presenting evidence against ‌Duterte since July on charges that she betrayed public trust, amassed unexplained wealth, violated the constitution and committed corruption, bribery and other high crimes. Lead prosecutor Gerville Luistro told the...

Fiji’s justice minister resigns after intimate video goes viral online

Fiji’s Justice Minister Siromi Turaga stepped down from cabinet on Tuesday after an intimate video of him went viral online – the second such scandal to rock the Pacific island nation’s government. Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, who previously sought credible “proof” before taking action against Turaga, said he accepted his colleague’s resignation. “You mentioned him? Go ahead and report him to me and the Online Safety Commissioner, and I will get proof from that authority with you making the...
