Retired board-certified psychiatrist and author Sam Toney shares a science fiction novel in progress, alongside new articles on the Big Bang, Genesis and theories of other dimensions.

Thonotosassa, United States, October 3, 2026 /NewsNetwork/ -- Sam D. Toney, M.D., a retired board-certified psychiatrist, has announced "Revelation Equation," a science fiction novel that places theoretical physics alongside questions of faith. He is sharing the writing process with readers at an accompanying website as the story develops.

Toney's project speaks to questions many people already ask. In Pew Research Center's 2023-24 Religious Landscape Study, 80% of U.S. adults said they feel a deep sense of wonder about the universe at least several times a year, and 84% said they think about the meaning and purpose of life that often.
The concept for Revelation Equation grew out of Toney's personal goal of easing disagreement between schools of thought and spiritual beliefs, and of encouraging people with opposing views to discuss them openly.
"Imagine a world of greater accord, where love and compassion, which we all have within, grow over time through simple acts of respect and the willingness to understand the thoughts and beliefs of one another," Toney said. "Watching how science and religion have been in great discord, we lose the opportunity to discover more truth that our creator has provided to us to discover."
Toney describes his approach as "plausible sci-fi," his term for fiction in which established scientific theory drives the plot. The novel draws on quantum mechanics, the idea of a multiverse, and the extra dimensions proposed by some versions of string theory. Its larger themes extend to identity, purpose, consciousness and the nature of truth, and the story is grounded in human stakes such as fear, wonder, obsession and the search for meaning.
The author releases portions of the story on the site from time to time, and readers can post topics and respond to one another in a discussion forum. Recent articles include "The Big Bang and Genesis: Where Science and Scripture Might Agree," published Sept. 1, 2026, and a Sept. 5 piece on how religious and mythological traditions describe realms beyond the one humans know.

Five years ago, Sarah and her husband were optimistic about Japan’s economic future and were expanding their small businesses across several sectors. Like many films released during Chuseok, South Korea’s national mid-autumn harvest festival, The Assassin(s) shot right to the top, selling more than a million tickets in its first four days. But the box-office success of the film about the 1974 assassination attempt on former president and military leader Park Chung-hee was quickly overshadowed by calls to halt screenings, as well as a police complaint against the film’s director and producers. Park loyalists and conservative politicians are...
When the time came to renew his certificate of entitlement (COE), Andrew Tan hit the brakes on coughing up an eye-watering S$112,000 (US$87,400) to keep his car on Singapore’s roads for another 10 years.
