Author Launches New Book on the Life of a Man of Color in the Military

London, Mar 2, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - Back to the early 1950s when racism and racial segregation was eminent right within the U.S. military itself, Lt. Williams on the Color Front by Christopher C. Bell Jr. reflects that time in Germany when desegregation efforts in the Army have commenced. Author Bell drives an action-packed plot amidst prejudice and discrimination.
The book centers on a young black lieutenant who is newly assigned to be the platoon leader of an all-white Army Infantry Regiment. Although circumstances have been anything but easy and pleasant, Lieutenant Neal Williams struggles not to waver through this significantly tough challenge. As he fights back with exceptional determination, his adversaries are also highly persistent with their resistance to a seemingly ambitious attempt on desegregation. How long can he keep his stand against his nemesis and dilemmas? Would he be as unyielding to keep himself faithful to his girlfriend when he's surrounded by women ready to comfort any soldier, no matter the color?
Christopher C. Bell Jr. takes pride in his black ethnicity. He is an essayist, a poet, and an educator on racial and ethnicity studies. He earned his EdD from Boston University Graduate School of Education. Bell is also a retired major of the US Army who served in Germany as a lieutenant during the 1950s. He also had the opportunity to serve in Vietnam and Ethiopia and twice in both France and Korea. These arrangements which took him to different countries opened his mind and broadened his understanding of different cultures and races.
Bell's work will be featured at the London Book Fair 2020, to be held at Olympia, London this coming March 10-12 at the Authors Press booth 1E38.
