Evelyn Townsend, a retired researcher and caving enthusiast, has completed her new book "Green Streak: Book One": a spellbinding tale set in a world that has been devastated by natural disasters. A lone woman sets out to find work at a nearby military community but discovers more than she bargained for once there.
"Janet Wilson (or Jana as her friends called her) was living in what could best be described as a commune with the people of the old Bluff Community. Her husband and two children had been killed five years earlier when the catastrophic events occurred, destroying most civilized portions of the Earth. The people that were left after the quakes and crevices subsided divided into mostly two types: those that tried to sustain and rebuild the civilization and those that preferred to turn barbaric, stealing and plundering from others," writes Townsend.
Townsend continues, "It had taken several years to get over the shock of losing her family, but now she was dissatisfied with the day-to-day survival life the Bluff Community offered. She wanted to get closer to the other groups of people who were trying to rebuild civilization."
Published by Newman Springs Publishing, Evelyn Townsend's engaging narrative follows Jana as she begins a tumultuous relationship with the military compound's leader, Tor. Her work brings her to the discovery of curious green men, which is covered up by those in charge. But more mystifying events surround Jana as she works to uncover the truth and figure out who it is she can truly trust in this strange new world.
Readers who wish to experience this mesmerizing work can purchase "Green Streak: Book One" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iBooks Store, Amazon, or Barnes & Noble.
