With a broad educational background, Dr. Polynice graduated with his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra in the Dominican Republic in 1989.
Thereafter, he performed both his internship and residency in general surgery at Columbia University Hospital/Harlem Hospital in New York. He also completed a residency in general surgery at North Shore University Hospital in 1997, a burn fellowship at New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical Center in 1998, and a residency in plastic surgery at Mayo Clinic in 2000.
Completing a traveling fellowship, Dr. Polynice trained with leaders in the field throughout Australia, Europe, Asia, and South America. This has allowed him to develop a global sense of beauty and a customized approach to every patient.
With a high level of passion and personalization, he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS). The mission of the ABPS is to promote safe, ethical, and efficacious plastic surgery to the public by maintaining high standards for the education, examination, certification, and continuous certification of plastic surgeons as specialists and subspecialists.

In addition to being a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), he is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
