Texas-based Clearfork Academy has announced updates to the academic component of its residential drug and alcohol rehab programs, which allow teens to continue their education while receiving treatment for their addiction.
Fort Worth, United States, October 26, 2026 /PressCable/ -- Clearfork Academy has expanded the academic component of its youth residential drug and alcohol rehab programs for teens suffering from moderate to severe addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders. Classes are offered through a partnership with the University of Texas Charter School, allowing patients to complete long-term residential treatment without compromising their academic progress.

Residential treatment programs, also known as inpatient treatment programs, are the most intensive of rehab programs that have been developed for serious addictions that occur alongside mental health conditions. These programs are recommended for teens who are unable to remain at home or continue going to school without abusing substances, have experienced a significant decline in health and their ability to function, or otherwise require 24-hour support. The goal of residential treatment is to remove the patient from negative environments or peer influences, allowing them to recover from their dependency in a safe and therapeutic setting where they can focus on therapy.
Because residential programs require teens to live at the facility, patients will not be able to attend school for the duration of their treatment. However, Clearfork Academy believes that focusing exclusively on therapy will create emotional and academic gaps that may hinder the patient’s development when they return to their daily life. For this reason, the treatment center includes an academic component with its inpatient programs, providing more structure for the teen and allowing them to retain a sense of normalcy as they recover from their addiction.
Classes are offered in-person or virtually at Clearfork Academy’s residential facility through a University of Texas Charter School satellite campus. Courses will follow state-accredited curricula to ensure patients can achieve their required credits during their stay and transition more easily back into normal school life upon completing treatment.
In addition to continuing education, Clearfork Academy’s residential rehab programs include a medical detox, evidence-based therapies, recreational therapies, and an optional faith-based track for families who are interested in integrating spirituality with recovery. By taking a holistic approach to addiction treatment, Clearfork Academy aims to encourage lasting healing and long-term sobriety in young patients.
