Azure IAM updates its MIM-to-IdentityIQ migration guide for organizations, explaining how to decompile compiled rules extensions, translate supported logic, flag unsupported constructs, and validate system behavior before production cutover.

Las Cruces, United States, October 24, 2026 /NewsNetwork/ -- Azure IAM has released an updated migration guide for organizations transitioning from Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) to SailPoint IdentityIQ. The guide details how to decompile compiled rules extensions when source files are unavailable.
More details can be found at https://azureiam.com/mim-to-sailpoint
The update comes amid two important lifecycle milestones: Microsoft extended MIM 2016 SP2 support to January 10, 2029, while SharePoint Server 2019, which the MIM Portal requires, reached end of life on July 14, 2026. Together, these milestones give organizations additional context for planning their MIM migration.
Azure IAM notes that many MIM deployments lack original C# or VB rules-extension source files after developers leave and project files become unavailable. Without those files, the MIM Configuration Documenter report can identify where a flow uses a rules extension but cannot show what the compiled code does. The guide describes decompiling assemblies to recover the logic and translating it for IdentityIQ.
Recovered logic is translated into IdentityIQ-compatible BeanShell where the translator can safely handle it; unsupported elements, including loops, exception handling, LINQ, and external service calls, remain marked scaffolds, with reasons recorded for review rather than being presented as completed rules.
Microsoft’s Contoso Pilot sample illustrates why this distinction matters. Two Configuration Documenter reports covering eight management agents generate 86 files, including 18 rules; six are completed, and 12 remain scaffolds because the reports do not contain the compiled rules-extension logic. As the guide explains, reporting all 18 as complete from that input would mean inventing 12 rules.
Beyond rules extensions, the migration covers synchronization rules, attribute precedence, lifecycle workflows, connectors, and Active Directory groups converted into roles. A guided wizard presents unresolved lifecycle decisions with supporting evidence from the reports.
Azure IAM describes a parallel validation run before cutover, during which MIM continues provisioning changes to connected systems while IdentityIQ generates comparable results. Teams review differences before IdentityIQ takes over production provisioning. The firm offers fixed-fee migration based on the existing MIM deployment.

With US President Donald Trump recently pushing the use of “superintelligence” (SI) instead of artificial intelligence (AI) in national discourse, the acronym has gained unprecedented attention. It is the right acronym but the wrong meaning. In my opinion, SI should stand for “self-intelligence”. It probably explains why academics, critics and even major AI companies are calling for a temporary pause in AI development. They must have realised the technology’s current trajectory is headed down...
Nearly 200 nations have struck hard-fought agreements at a UN biodiversity summit, but the outcome was accompanied by disappointment over missed opportunities to address humanity’s destructive toll on nature. Delegates cheered on Friday as crucial texts were approved in overtime but the celebrations were tempered by acrimonious debates and regret over limited progress on some of the most contentious issues. The Cop17 summit in Armenia sought to revive a landmark commitment to halt and reverse...

In the Land of the Rising Sun, Bangladesh looks forward to a new dawn. The hope that comes with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s visit to Japan goes beyond the deals signed or the financial support expected. It shows a country that has emerged from authoritarian rule and wants to turn its new political voice into bigger economic chances and freedom of choice. For a government chosen by the people, foreign policy must answer one question: how does it make life better for the people who gave it...
Contemporary Amperex Technology Ltd (CATL) has doubled down on new businesses including battery swapping and energy storage as the world’s largest battery maker seeks new growth drivers amid intensifying price wars and mounting pressure on profitability. But the new path is far from straightforward. Established players like Nio have already built a strong presence in battery swapping, while BYD has reinforced its position in energy-storage systems. After spending three months in a coma following a brain haemorrhage, a patient in China has regained the ability to speak, eat and walk with support – part of an early clinical trial using targeted sound waves to help “wake up” severely damaged brains, according to state media.
