Oct 26, 2026

Catalonia, Spain, October 26, 2026 -- BARCELONA, Spain — October 2026 — Iki Thai Massage Spa, a wellness centre at Carrer d'Aragó, 277 in Barcelona's Dreta de l'Eixample, is marking its first season with a 4.9 out of 5 average rating from more than 60 verified guest reviews on Fresha and a five-star rating on Tripadvisor.

Located a few minutes' walk from Passeig de Gràcia metro station, Iki brings two Asian wellness traditions together under one roof. The first is traditional Thai massage, built on assisted stretches and pressure along the body's Sen lines. The second is the Japanese Head Spa, a scalp-care ritual that combines cleansing, cranial massage and deep relaxation.

A treatment menu for every kind of visit

Thai massages (60–90 min): Thai Signature Ritual, Aromatic Ritual Thai, Thai Oil, Deep Tissue, Herbal Thai Ritual with steamed herbal compresses, Thai Balinese Fusion, and the Dual Harmony Ritual, a four-hands massage performed by two therapists in sync. A Kids Thai Massage is available for ages 6 to 13.

Japanese Head Spa: Iki Essential Head Spa (45 min), Iki Premium Head Spa (60 min) and the signature Iki Crown Ritual (90 min), which combines head spa, foot work and facial massage.

Couples experiences: Couple Thai Massage in a shared cabin, and Iki Couple Sensations, which pairs a massage with time in a private jacuzzi.

Also on the menu: Lemon Peeling Salt and Coco Peeling Body scrubs, the 30-minute Iki Essentials range for short breaks, and Mom to Be, a pregnancy massage adapted from the second trimester.

Treatments range from €40 for a 30-minute session to €205 for the 90-minute couples jacuzzi experience.

Offers for locals and visitors

From Monday to Thursday, 11:00 to 15:00, Iki Promotions gives 15% off all individual massages of 60 minutes or more. Couples treatments are excluded. Bicing users receive 10% off individual and couples treatments when they show their Bicing card or SMOU app. Gift cards are available online and at the spa.

"We wanted to create a place in the middle of the Eixample where people can properly switch off without leaving the city," said Chanyaphak Putthathanjira Puttakang, manager of Iki Thai Massage Spa. "Every session is adapted to the guest, from the pressure and the stretches to the oils, so people leave feeling lighter than when they arrived."

South Korean students caught cheating with AI glasses to face prosecution from 2027

South Korea will file criminal complaints against students caught cheating on a national university entrance exam with smart glasses and toughen penalties for their use, a government official has said. Sales of smart glasses – which allow the wearer to shoot photos and videos and interact with an AI assistant among other abilities – are growing worldwide. But so is a backlash around the gadgets, including concerns over people being filmed without consent and their use by exam cheats. South...

Will diversifying fuel imports be enough to fix Indonesia’s energy shortfall?

Indonesia is looking beyond Singapore for petrol supplies as it seeks to reduce its dependence on a single source, but analysts say diversifying imports will do little to address the country’s fuel production shortfall without faster refinery modernisation and investment in alternative fuels. Indonesia has long sourced petroleum products from Singapore, including RON 90 petrol, which has a minimum octane rating of 90 and is marketed domestically as Pertalite. Singapore’s geographic proximity,...

Toxic online subcultures fuelling Asia’s school attacks

Recent school attacks across Malaysia have shone a light on a troubling trend of teenagers joining an online subculture that glamorises real-life killers, according to a prominent security analyst. Three violent incidents in Malaysian schools – in Kuching on October 21, Banting in July and Bandar Utama in October last year – could be linked to the True Crime Community (TCC), said Munira Mustaffa, founder of Kuala Lumpur-based security consulting firm Chasseur Group. In the Kuching case, the...

Amid brutal sell-off, what comes next for Google, Amazon and other Big Tech titans?

Soaring artificial intelligence revenues have failed to shield Intel, Amazon and Google’s parent company Alphabet from a brutal Wall Street sell-off, as their latest quarterly results deepened investor jitters over mounting capital spending and delayed returns. Intel plunged about 23 per cent in extended trading on Thursday, while Amazon shed 7.3 per cent. Alphabet tumbled 12.6 per cent during the regular session in its worst day on record, dragging the Nasdaq Composite down 1.4 per cent and...

Saviour or stopgap? Malaysia’s South Korean jets arrive to relieve ageing fighters

Malaysia received its first South Korean-made light combat jet on Friday under a nearly 4 billion ringgit (US$990 million) procurement, in what analysts describe as welcome relief for an ageing air force still years away from replacing its frontline fighters. The FA-50M Block 20 jet arrived at the air force base in Labuan, off Borneo, with a second expected in Kuantan on the peninsula’s east coast next Monday. They are the first of 18 aircraft ordered from Korea Aerospace Industries under a deal...

Indonesia’s wildfire smoke crisis claims over 3,500 lives in September

Pollution from smoke emitted by months of wildfires across Indonesia caused an estimated 3,560 deaths in the vast Southeast Asian archipelago in September, according to a new study. The same month, about 57.8 million people in Indonesia were inhaling unhealthy to hazardous air, said the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA), a Helsinki-based think tank. “Worsening air quality due to forest and land fires in Indonesia pushed the estimated death toll to 3,560 cases in September 2026,...
