Oct 27, 2026
Bangkok, Thailand, October 27, 2026 -- On October 24, 2026, Holi Health Massage, a traditional Thai massage brand with branches in Bangkok, Pattaya and Chiang Mai and a franchise partner store in Phuket, published the government licence number, registered name, registered address and licensed floor area of each of its company-operated branches on its bilingual website. Visitors can now check every branch against the public register of Thailand's Department of Health Service Support before booking. The move is the latest step in the brand's decade-long effort to turn Jap Kasai, a tendon technique from traditional Thai medicine, into a licensed, documented and transparent service.
Licence details now public
Each company-operated branch holds a health establishment licence issued by the Department of Health Service Support under the Ministry of Public Health: Bangkok Ratchada (licence 100200025-62), Bangkok near ICONSIAM (100200132-68), Pattaya (2002000224-69) and Chiang Mai (500200033-67). The Phuket Patong store is operated by a franchise partner that holds its own licence. The register can be searched online by licence number or registered name.
A lineage from the early 20th century
Holi traces its technique lineage to the early 20th century, when tendon techniques of this kind were handed down from teacher to apprentice rather than taught openly.
A Bangkok tour-group landmark
From the 1990s, as Thai tourism grew rapidly, Holi's main store in Bangkok was for more than two decades one of the larger massage houses serving tour groups in the city, with more than 300 therapists at its peak.
2016: a new team, written standards and licensing
In 2016 a new team took over the brand and founded Siam Thai Sabai Co., Ltd. to operate it. The team documented the technique as a standard process that can be taught, examined and checked, and brought every branch under Thailand's Health Establishment Act B.E. 2559. Prices are published in Thai baht, and every guest completes a health questionnaire before a session.
2018: a certified training school
Because few therapists know Jap Kasai, Holi decided to train its own. In 2018 Holi and The Union of Thai Traditional Medicine Society jointly founded a training school whose courses are certified by the Department of Health Service Support and which issues legally recognised massage certificates. New therapists also complete 1,000 hours of in-house training and an assessment before working with guests.
What Jap Kasai is, and what it is not
A full session lasts about 90 to 140 minutes and combines a preparatory full-body massage with pressing and stretching techniques along the tendons. Holi is explicit about the limits: Jap Kasai is a wellness experience, not medical treatment, and does not replace seeing a doctor. The brand provides no sexual services of any kind and serves adults aged 18 and over only. Guests who are unwell, have had recent surgery or have a chronic condition are asked to tell the therapist in advance and, where appropriate, consult a doctor first. Holi has also published a book, Thai Jap Kasai (ISBN 978-616-631-585-1), which documents the techniques, procedures and contraindications.
Branches
Bangkok Ratchada (flagship), Bangkok near ICONSIAM (Holi Icon Massage), Pattaya, Chiang Mai Old City, and Phuket Patong (franchise partner store). Addresses, opening hours, prices and licence information are listed on the brand's website.

The number of Malaysians detained overseas for drug-related offences increased to 1,588 as of September this year, according to Deputy Foreign Minister Lukanisman Awang Sauni. Lukanisman said the five countries with the highest numbers of Malaysians detained were Indonesia (381), China (380), Singapore (310), Thailand (102) and Japan (72). He said increasingly sophisticated drug-smuggling methods had contributed to the frequent arrests of Malaysians overseas. “A total of 1,181 Malaysians were...

Judges took away the possibility of parole for an Australian woman, Erin Patterson, and rejected a bid to overturn her conviction over deadly beef Wellington lunch.
Australian mushroom murderer Erin Patterson lost a bid to overturn her convictions and had a harsher sentence imposed on Friday, failing to prove she was wrongfully jailed for killing three people with a poisoned lunch. Patterson was found guilty last year of murdering her husband’s parents and elderly aunt, deliberately lacing their beef Wellington meal with highly toxic death cap mushrooms. The 52-year-old maintained her triple murder convictions were a “miscarriage of justice”, urging the...
While many parents still question whether to give their children access to artificial intelligence, Malaysian tech worker Pravin Ganesan has embraced it to solve a very practical problem: helping his eight-year-old daughter with homework he sometimes struggles to explain. Pravin, 42, taught her a few basic prompts and checked the answers closely, finding that generative AI is particularly good at breaking down difficult concepts into child-friendly terms. “It has helped her learn and understand...

Thailand’s government said on Thursday it had revoked the citizenship of a prominent head rabbi who was a naturalised Thai, as the country tightens enforcement of its immigration laws. Rabbi Yosef Chaim Kantor’s Thai citizenship was stripped over his repeated use of his US passport after naturalisation in 2013, according to an interior ministry statement. The order was signed by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who is also interior minister. Thai law prohibits naturalised citizens from...
Singapore’s decision to send its top diplomat to Indonesia on a surprise visit, following days of terse exchanges over a regional haze, underscores a bid to defuse growing tensions and seek a direct channel to President Prabowo Subianto. Analysts say Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan’s trip reflected his country’s preference for measured diplomacy amid rising nationalistic rhetoric in Indonesia, with the city state also mindful of containing any “negative fallout” as Jakarta grapples with...
