Passaic, New Jersey Oct 24, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT) Launches xCoin (XID) with Post-Quantum Security

DLT proposes "Gravity and Velocity," a two-part monetary system in which XID's fixed supply anchors value while stablecoins carry everyday payments.

Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT), a Wyoming-registered infrastructure company, has launched xCoin (XID), a digital currency designed to stay secure in an era of quantum computers. The xCoin mainnet went live on September 26, 2026, and its blocks, transactions and mining activity can be checked by anyone on the public explorer SuperKnet.

Built for the post-quantum era

Most digital currencies protect payments with signature schemes that a large quantum computer is expected to be able to break. xCoin uses ML-DSA, a post-quantum signature standard published by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) as FIPS 204, for every transaction. Each address also carries a second, independent post-quantum key (SLH-DSA) as a backup. The network's rules are fixed in open-source code: a maximum supply of 100,000,000 XID, and MetalDAG, a memory-hard proof of work that ordinary computers, including Apple Silicon Macs, can take part in. More about the network is at xcoinproject.com.

Gravity and Velocity: a proposal for how digital money could work

Alongside the launch, DLT is publishing a monetary framework it calls Gravity and Velocity. In DLT's proposal, money does two different jobs that work best when they are separated. Gravity is the job of holding value: a scarce, fixed-supply asset, XID, serves as the reserve. Velocity is the job of moving value: dollar-linked stablecoins such as USDC carry everyday payments, where price stability matters more than scarcity.

"Money is asked to be a vault and a conveyor belt at the same time, and it is rarely good at both," said David Otero, founder of DLT. "Gravity and Velocity lets each part do one job well: XID holds weight, stable digital dollars provide motion, and the user decides how much of each they keep."

xPay: paying in XID, settling in USDC

DLT's xPay app puts the framework in a person's pocket. xPay is a phone wallet that installs from the web on Android and iPhone; its signing keys stay on the phone, protected by a six-digit PIN. Today it sends, receives and scans payments in XID.

The next stage, now in development, is automatic USDC settlement through AYEDEX, DLT's exchange layer. The design: a person pays in XID, and a merchant who prefers dollars receives USDC, with the conversion handled automatically by AYEDEX at the moment of payment. Neither side has to trade by hand, and both keep control of their own keys. DLT has said real-money settlement will open only after its legal review is complete.

Online banking and desktop wallets and a community that signs in with a key

For computers, DLT has released XID Wallet for Mac and Windows. It holds funds, supports card-based wallets, and signs on the user's own computer. The same app signs people in to MineDifferent, the xCoin community forum, with an XID identity instead of a password: members who sign in can chat immediately, and the forum keeps every message permanently. Xalon is a new banking protocol that uses hardware keys to authorize users to access their account via browser.

About Distributed Ledger Technologies

Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT) is an independent infrastructure company, registered in Wyoming and established in 2020, that builds post-quantum money, self-custody tools and public network infrastructure. Its products include the xCoin network, the SuperKnet explorer, the MMM miner for Mac, XID Wallet, xPay, the Xalon online wallet and the MineDifferent community. DLT's stated principles are to ship working systems, make claims verifiable, keep participation open and put users in control.

xCoin is open-source software. This announcement describes technology and a proposed monetary framework; it is not an offer to sell, or a recommendation to buy, any digital asset. Features described as in development may change.

Climate damage to Philippine ports could cost US$70b a year by 2100

The Philippines faces the highest climate-driven port damage costs in Southeast Asia, with annual losses projected to hit US$70.2 billion by 2100, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has warned. Analysts say the damage could cripple supply chains, drive up food prices and threaten livelihoods, urging Manila to adopt a more coordinated approach to flood protection rather than simply strengthening port infrastructure. In its latest report titled “Asia-Pacific Climate Report 2026: Coastal Risks on the...

Indonesia defends Singapore gas cuts, cites rising domestic needs and contractual limits

Indonesia has defended its decision to cut natural gas exports to Singapore, citing domestic electricity and industrial needs and arguing that the reduction remains within contractual limits. The cuts came days after Indonesia’s energy minister warned that his country could stop exports to nations that “did not respect” it. On Monday, Energy Minister Bahlil Lahadalia defended the reduction of 31 million standard cubic feet per day in pipeline gas exports to Singapore, saying it represented about...

AI chip surge lifts South Korea to record surplus, behind only China

South Korea earned US$116.63 billion more from the world than it spent in the second quarter of this year – exceeding the combined current account surpluses of Germany and Japan for the first time on record. The current account measures a country’s trade and income with the world. It counts goods and services sold abroad, money earned on overseas investments and payments flowing the other way. A surplus means more foreign currency is coming in than going out. Surging demand for semiconductors...

China may well be the next big competitor for Asian migrant labour

For decades, China was one of the world’s largest sources of migrant labour. Its workers staffed factories at home and built infrastructure abroad. But demographic decline may eventually force China to contemplate a striking reversal: importing workers on a meaningful scale. That change is not imminent. China still has a vast labour force and substantial youth unemployment. It is investing heavily in industrial automation, extending working lives through a gradual increase in the retirement age,...

‘Fed up’ Malaysian sultan rebukes scandal-hit pilgrimage fund, demands accountability

A Malaysian ruler is demanding accountability over the mismanagement of a pilgrimage fund, after a government rescue package, criminal proceedings against former officials and half-hearted reforms have fuelled concerns about political influence in an institution entrusted with the savings of millions of the country’s Muslims. Tabung Haji holds the savings of more than 9.8 million depositors and helps Malaysian Muslims finance and undertake the pilgrimage to Mecca, a religious obligation for...
