B.F. Raid Announces Within The Wine, A Four-Part Concept Ep Arriving December 1, 2026

Oct 24, 2026

Four songs spanning two albums come together on vinyl, CD, and streaming to tell one complete story about escapism, lost time, destructive behavior, and the difficult journey from growing older to growing up.

Malden, Massachusetts Oct 24, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - Heavy metal band B.F. Raid (Boston's Final Raid) announces the December 1, 2026 release of Within The Wine, a four-part concept EP that brings together four interconnected songs from the band's 2024 album Raided Again and its 2026 release Combat Zone. Available on vinyl, CD, and major streaming platforms, the EP presents these songs together in their intended narrative sequence for the first time.

Within The Wine is a story about the passage of time, the seductive nature of escapism, the consequences of excess, and the realization that growing older and growing up are two very different things.

Rather than approaching these themes through a single character or event, the EP unfolds across four chapters, moving from quiet reflection and the familiar surroundings of neighborhood bars to the increasingly destructive consequences of habitual behavior and, ultimately, a confrontation with one's own identity.

The story begins with "Within The Wine" (Part I), originally released on Raided Again in 2024. Through imagery of empty glasses, fading relationships, and time slipping away, the opening chapter establishes the emotional foundation of the narrative. What initially appears to offer comfort and escape gradually becomes a symbol of everything being lost.

"Divebar Allstars" (Part II), from 2026's Combat Zone, takes listeners into the world of neighborhood bars and their familiar cast of characters. The regulars, the stories, the unfulfilled ambitions, and the promises of a different tomorrow all become part of a seemingly endless cycle. As the years pass, the faces may change, but the patterns remain remarkably familiar.

In "Three Days Under" (Part III), also from Combat Zone, the consequences of that lifestyle become increasingly difficult to ignore. Using the language of a troubled romantic relationship, the song portrays the destructive hold of alcohol, the conflict between dependence and self-awareness, and the struggle to escape a cycle that continues despite its consequences.

The narrative reaches its conclusion with "The Day I Killed Brian Scott" (Part IV), the EP's most direct and unsettling chapter.

Despite its provocative title, the song is not about a literal killing. Brian Scott represents an immature, reckless, and self-destructive identity that has persisted long past its usefulness. His symbolic death represents the difficult decision to abandon irresponsible behavior and the habits that prevent someone from moving forward.

The conclusion is not intended as a simple declaration of redemption. Instead, it examines the uncomfortable realization that meaningful change sometimes requires confronting and leaving behind a familiar version of oneself.

Together, the four songs create a continuous narrative about choices, consequences, and the passage of time. Drawing on the characters, environments, and observations that have long influenced B.F. Raid's songwriting, Within The Wine explores experiences that are deeply human without presenting them as a personal confession.

Although the individual tracks have appeared on previous releases, their presentation as a complete concept EP provides a new perspective on the music. The final chapter brings the story full circle, giving listeners a different understanding of the events and themes introduced at the beginning.

With its December 1 release on vinyl, CD, and streaming, Within The Wine invites listeners to experience the four chapters in sequence, as one complete work.

Four songs. One story. A lifetime of consequences.

Seoul’s useless placation is a warning for all US trade partners

The anxiety gripping Seoul is palpable. Under US pressure, South Korea signed a US$350 billion investment deal last November for a 10-percentage-point tariff reduction, billing it as a strategic alliance. Barely a year on, the facade has crumbled. Last month, US President Donald Trump announced a US$200 billion tranche of the deal with no South Korean official present. Blindsided, Seoul restated its “commercial viability” clause. Trump’s response was blunt. “If they don’t want to do it, that’s...

Kim Jong-un urges North Korean military to become ‘strongest armed forces in the world’

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un urged his military to train to become the strongest in the world at a two-day meeting of company commanders in Pyongyang, state media said on Saturday. Kim’s call for what he dubbed a “Korean-style military revolution” came the same week Seoul’s military proposed talks to clarify the border after an explosion inside the heavily fortified demilitarised zone (DMZ) further strained inter-Korean ties. Seoul and Pyongyang remain technically at war as the 1950-53 Korean...

Overseas Filipinos feel heartache over missing parcels for loved ones, demand answers

At this time of year, Fatima Ramos would normally be preparing her balikbayan boxes. Overseas Filipinos typically fill these boxes with gifts, clothes, food and household items to send to their loved ones back home in the Philippines for Christmas. Ramos has previously sent the tax-exempt parcels to her family and Philippine charity organisations from Abu Dhabi, where she is a domestic worker. Now back in the Philippines, Ramos is seeking answers about the parcels she sent last year, some of...

Revised law to maintain Japan’s imperial family size takes effect

A revised Imperial House Law took effect on Saturday to address Japan’s shrinking imperial family while retaining the traditional male-only succession system despite public support for female emperors. The legislation, enacted in July in the first major revision of the 1947 law, allows the imperial family to adopt males aged 15 or older from 11 former imperial branch families who are descended from emperors through the male line. The revised law also allows female members to retain their...

French cooking schools fuel fine-dining dreams of India’s young chefs

Fiercely proud of its culinary traditions, India is increasingly open to foreign influences, with French cooking schools attracting students eager to make their mark on the country’s growing fine-dining sector. “Ten or 15 years ago, there were far fewer young people dreaming of becoming chefs,” said Aabhas Jain, director of bakery and pastry training at Ecole Ducasse, a French culinary school also operating in India. “But with the rise of social media … today’s students have greater ambitions in...

Danger, death and devotion: Japan’s festivals face crisis after fatal accidents

Japan’s centuries-old festivals are facing renewed scrutiny after a series of fatal accidents in recent weeks, raising questions over how communities can preserve their cultural traditions without putting lives at risk. Three people have been killed and more than a dozen injured in accidents at autumn festivals across the country in recent weeks. Meanwhile, organisers of another major festival, where two men died in February, have cancelled next year’s event, citing public safety concerns. The...

China’s access to artificial intelligence computing power will double next year, but US-designed chips will account for about 65 per cent of that capacity, an indication of its continued reliance on foreign hardware, according to new research. Total compute available to Chinese entities was expected to expand in 2027 from about 4.6 million to 8.8 million “H100-equivalents” – a metric benchmarked against Nvidia’s data-centre graphics processing units, according to a report by the Washington-based...

Big dreams, growing pains in Indonesia: Prabowo’s turbulent 2 years in power

When 35-year-old Bekasi resident Ika Kartika voted for Prabowo Subianto in Indonesia’s 2024 presidential election, she hoped the former general would restore a “Suharto-like” era of stability, when everyday essentials were affordable and life felt more predictable. Growing up, she had often heard her parents reminisce about the “good old days” under the late strongman, whose rule had brought a sense of order to their lives. Two years into his presidency, however, rising food prices have left Ika...
